NFL Today

On November 9, Jets coach, Rex Ryan, was fined $100,000 after he was caught on camera yelling, “F--- you” to somebody in the field. Ryan’s profane outburst happened after his team broke their eight-game losing streak with a win over the Pittsburg Steelers. Ryan was upset when Steelers safety, Michael Mitchell, leaped over the offensive line while the jets were doing a kneel-down at the end of the game. Ryan called the play in question "bush league."

This is not the first time Rex Ryan has been fined by the NFL. In February 2010, he was fined $50,000 for making an offensive gesture during an MMA event in South Florida. Also, Ryan was fined in 2011 for $75,000 when he used profanity towards a fan. The fan made a reference about Bill Belichick, the head coach of the New England Patriots. The fan reportedly said to Ryan, "Rex, [Bill] Belichick is better than you!" Ryan replied by saying, "Shut the f--- up!"

The day after receiving his fine last Sunday, Rex Ryan stated that, "Emotions run high in games." Ryan also stated, "Obviously, I've got to do a good job of controlling my emotions. Things happen. I'm sorry if I offended anybody."

Although Ryan apologized for his actions, he still had to pay his fine of $100,000. Was this amount too excessive, or does Rex Ryan deserve to pay for the fine?

Was this offense worth $100,000?

NFL Today

Dez Bryant, one of the NFL's best receivers has been subject to new suspicion and concerns lately. The 26 year old wide receiver is about to sign a 10 year contract with the Dallas Cowboys, however the team is not sure whether the decision they are about to make is a good idea.

The proposed contract would last for 10 years, with a pay of $114 million. While this is certainly a large sum of money, Bryant believes he deserves it. The Cowboys however, seem hesitant. Recently there have been six instances in which police have had to visit Bryant's residence for issues ranging from a harassment case, to having the fire department unlock his car which had a sleeping baby inside. Dez Bryant has had anger management issues in the past and has a manager with him at all times. Dallas Cowboy players even claim that they do not trust Bryant off the field.

While Bryant says he is willing to talk numbers during the season, the previous proposals by the Cowboys have not been impressive to the receiver, nor set in stone. Of the $114 million proposed contract, a $5 million signing bonus would be awarded, and for the six years at the start of the contract, $10 million per year would be paid out, which is not the salary a top NFL receiver would earn.

It does not look like this contract will be finalized any time soon. Will Bryant slip up and give the Cowboys more reason to be wary? Or are the Cowboys being unfairly cautious toward one of the NFL's best wide receivers? Only time will tell.

NBA Today

As the NBA 2014-2015 season continue, many key players have already been injured.

On October 31st, Derrick Rose, Chicago Bulls super star, sprained his ankle and missed the game with the timberwolves.  There is no estimate on how long Rose will take until he plays again.

On October 31st, OKC superstar, Russell Westbrook, fractured his hand and undergoes surgery.  The surgery was successful but he is out for at least four weeks.  Also another OKC superstar, Kevin Durant fractured his right foot earlier this month and has been sitting out ever since.  With 2 of their best players out, OKC will probably be cooked for the next 2 months.

With OKC and the bulls best players out for a while there is no guessing on what will happen this season.  Giving rookies a chance to shine while their best players are out is one of the best ways to find new talent.

As other teams bolster their roosters, who will prevail and win the championships.  Will it be the returning champions the spurs, the newly improved Lakers, the cavaliers with James back, the supposedly "best rooster" clippers, the golden state warriors, the OKC thunder, or will it be a new start up team.
